My name is Jacob Barrera. I’m a 23 year old anthropology grad with a wide variety of interests, utilizing this space to contribute my perspective on issues I find vital to address.

After graduating with a degree in anthropology, I felt as if there was no place for me in the system to directly jump into. Not wanting to pursue a tedious and constricting career in academia, I began pursuing other options but quickly realized that they are scant. In a world where the internet can both entrap and free us, I was hesitant to pursue a career based online. However, realized I must accept this new digital age, and now I embrace it.

Utilizing my understanding of anthropology, depth psychology, religion, and literature, I attempt to highlight issues that are pertinent both to society in general and to Gen Z specifically, as the latter I am acutely aware of being a member of the controversial generation myself.
